Quick answer

What does a Zoho Analytics and BI service include? A BI engagement connects your data sources, whether Zoho apps, databases, or spreadsheets, then builds a shared data model that all reports read from. On top of that model we design dashboards and KPI reports for each role, cohort and retention analysis, and scheduled reporting that lands in inboxes automatically. It also covers blending Zoho data with external sources so leaders see one number, not five. Aaxonix works architecture-first and designs every dashboard around a decision someone has to make, not a vanity metric.

Analytics

Data is only useful if the right people see it at the right time.

Most Zoho implementations leave analytics as an afterthought, module-level reports that nobody checks. Aaxonix builds analytics as a first-class deliverable. We start with the data model, the layer that decides whether a dashboard can answer real questions or just repeats what a single module already shows. From there we build cross-app dashboards that blend CRM, finance, operations, and HR data into one view.

The pattern we see most often is a business with five sources of truth. Sales quote numbers from the CRM, finance quote different numbers from Books, and operations track a third figure in a spreadsheet. A proper BI layer resolves that by joining sources on shared keys inside a modelled workspace, so every report reads from the same definitions. That is the difference between a chart and a decision tool. Our approach here mirrors how a good Zoho consultant sequences any build: get the architecture right first, then layer reporting on top.

We work with your leadership team to define the KPIs that actually drive decisions, then build dashboards that surface those metrics with drill-down capability and automated alerts. For a deeper walk-through of what a well-built workspace looks like, see our guide on building Zoho Analytics dashboards that actually help.

How it works

How does a BI engagement turn raw data into dashboards?

The first job is connection. We wire up every source that matters, native Zoho connectors for CRM, Books, Inventory, Desk, and People, plus JDBC connections for MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Snowflake, and imports for spreadsheets and third-party APIs. Each source gets a refresh schedule matched to how fresh the data needs to be, so a daily sales dashboard is not held hostage by a monthly finance export.

Next comes the model. We build query tables and lookups that join those sources on shared keys, then define derived columns for the metrics your team argues about: net revenue, margin, utilisation, resolution time. For subscription and D2C businesses we add date-cohort tables so retention curves and repeat-purchase rates fall out of the same model rather than needing a separate export. Getting non-Zoho data in cleanly is its own craft, our note on moving Zoho Analytics data into Tableau covers the export path when a team already standardises on another front end.

Only then do we design dashboards. A CEO view is not a finance view is not a rep view, so each role gets a layout built around the decisions that person makes, with drill-down from the headline number to the underlying rows. We keep the count of charts deliberately low. A dashboard that shows twelve things well beats one that shows forty things nobody reads.

The last layer is distribution. Scheduled email delivery, Slack and Cliq alerts, and Zia anomaly detection push the right numbers to the right people without anyone logging in. If your team is weighing platforms before committing, our comparison of Zoho Analytics and Power BI and our Zoho Analytics guide for Indian SMBs lay out the trade-offs in plain terms.

How it compares

Zoho Analytics vs a generic BI tool for a Zoho-based business.

FactorZoho AnalyticsGeneric BI tool
Connecting to Zoho dataNative connectors, no gatewayNeeds API build or middleware
Time to first dashboardDays once the model is setWeeks, with pipeline work first
Licence cost for SMBsIncluded or low-cost within Zoho OnePer-seat, adds up quickly
Blending external sources250+ sources, built-in blendingStrong, but modelling is heavier
Best fitTeams already running on ZohoLarge Microsoft or SQL estates

The honest answer is that the right tool depends on where your data already lives. We advise on both and will feed Zoho data into Power BI when that is the correct call.

Why Aaxonix

Why teams pick us for the analytics layer.

Decision-focused dashboards

Every chart maps to a decision someone has to make. If a metric does not change what a team does, it does not go on the dashboard.

Data-model discipline

We build the shared model before the first chart. That is why our dashboards stay consistent as sources and questions grow.

Senior delivery

A certified Zoho partner building since 2018. You work with people who have modelled these joins before, not a junior handed the ticket.

Proof point

A mid-market services firm came to us running three conflicting revenue numbers across CRM, Books, and a spreadsheet. We built one shared model and a small set of role dashboards on top. Month-end reporting that used to take two days of manual reconciliation now refreshes on its own before the leadership call, and the finance and sales teams finally quote the same figure.

Our Process

The Aaxonix 6-phase method.

01

Discovery & Requirements

Deep dive into your current processes. We ask the questions your last vendor didn't. We also confirm whether Zoho or NetSuite is the right fit, honest recommendation before any build begins.

02

Solution Architecture

Full design, data model, module stack, integration map, automation flows. You review and approve before any build begins. This phase is complimentary.

03

Build & Configure

Short sprints, weekly demos. You see progress every week, not a big reveal at go-live full of surprises.

04

Testing & UAT

Structured testing against your original requirements. We don't go live until your team has signed off on every scenario.

05

Go-Live & Hypercare

Controlled go-live with a 2–4 week hypercare period, dedicated support to catch every edge case before it becomes a problem.

06

Training & Handover

Role-based training and full admin documentation. Our definition of done: your team runs the system completely independently.

FAQ

The Analytics & BI questions we hear most.

Zoho Analytics is a self-service BI and analytics platform that connects to 250+ data sources. It lets you build interactive dashboards, scheduled reports, and AI-powered insights across your CRM, finance, HR, and operational data.

If your operational data already lives in Zoho apps, Zoho Analytics is usually the faster, cheaper route because the connectors are native and no separate gateway is needed. Power BI makes sense when you have heavy Microsoft or SQL Server estates, complex DAX modelling needs, or an existing Power BI licence pool. We advise on both and can even feed Zoho data into Power BI when that is the right call, so the choice is based on your stack, not a vendor preference.

Yes. Zoho Analytics connects to databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake), cloud storage, spreadsheets, and 250+ third-party apps. We set up data blending so you get a single view across Zoho and non-Zoho systems, joined on shared keys with the refresh schedule tuned to each source.

A single focused dashboard for one team starts around INR 40,000. A full cross-app BI build with a shared data model, multiple role dashboards, custom KPIs, and scheduled distribution typically runs higher depending on the number of data sources and the complexity of the blends. We scope every engagement to a fixed quote after a short discovery call, so there are no open-ended hourly bills.

A basic dashboard setup takes 1–2 weeks. A full BI implementation with cross-app data blending, custom KPIs, and scheduled distribution typically takes 3–6 weeks depending on the number of data sources and complexity.

Yes. We work with your leadership team to define the metrics that actually drive decisions, not vanity metrics. Then we build dashboards that surface these KPIs with drill-down capability and anomaly alerts.

Yes. We model cohort tables and retention curves inside Zoho Analytics using query tables and derived date columns, so you can see how each monthly or quarterly cohort of customers behaves over time. This is common for subscription, D2C, and services businesses that need to understand churn, repeat purchase, and lifetime value rather than only headline revenue.

Yes. Zoho Analytics supports scheduled email delivery of reports and dashboards to stakeholders. We configure distribution rules so the right people get the right data at the right time, daily, weekly, or monthly.
